Fake castings exist everywhere. They mostly target young talents who are starting out. A few simple reflexes help avoid them.
A real casting never asks for money. No "application fees", no "mandatory portfolio" with an imposed photographer, no paid training to be selected. Any request for money is a red flag.
Beware of meetings in private places (hotel rooms, homes), at unusual hours, or requests for intimate photos. A serious casting takes place in a professional setting, often with several people present.
Check who is recruiting. On CineLinker, recruiters are verified before they can contact talents or post a call, and exchanges stay on the platform: phone numbers and email addresses are automatically blocked in messages.
For minors, a parent's or guardian's consent is mandatory, and their photos are never public.
If in doubt, do not follow up and use the "Report" button: our team reviews every report confidentially.
